American actor/comedian Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance in a Recife bar full of US soccer fans last night.
USA face Germany tonight in a crucial final group match. The Americans will need at least a draw against the European heavyweights to secure a place in the knockout stages. Ferrell jokingly offered his services for his national side but admitted “I’m not in great shape, ok, not in soccer shape, but I’m going to try my best.”
The Anchorman star promised to go above and beyond the call of duty by channelling his inner Luis Suarez for the good of the cause.
“If the game gets close I will bite. I will bite opponent. I will bite every German if I have to.”
