The 29th of April 1990, the last time Napoli lifted a Serie A title. Tonight, that changed, as Luciano Spalletti's side drew with Udinese, sealing just a third title of all time.

The likes of Diego Maradona, Gianfranco Zola and Careca were vital to the Naples outfit the last time they won the title, but this time, it was a new generation of players like Victor Osimhen, Khvivha Kvaratskhelia and Min Jae Kim who were instrumental to their outstanding 2022/23 campaign.

With five games still remaining in the Serie A season, Napoli's 16 point lead at the summit of the table has summed up just how dominant they have been this year.

Despite the result tonight sealing a first title in 33 years, things didn't go quite to plan for Napoli in the early stages.

After 13 minutes of action, Udinese took a shock lead after this wonderful strike from Sandi Lovrić.

Napoli were always going to win the title in the coming weeks baring a catastrophic string of results, but minutes into the second period, Victor Osimhen sealed their fate, with this composed finish inside the Udinese box.

Many fans had never seen their beloved club win a league title and they flooded the pitch in numbeers after the final whistle.

A historic moment for the club which the players and fans will never forget. Naples is likely going to be the craziest city on the planet over the next few days.
