Declan Rice has been called up to the Ireland squad for the friendlies against Mexico and Uruguay and the World Cup qualifier against Austria.
The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut at the weekend when he came off the bench for West Ham in the final moments of their win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Rice is the tenth player in Martin O'Neill's squad who can play centre-back.
Who is Declan Rice?
Born in London, Rice qualifies to play for Ireland through his grandparents.
He moved to West Ham from Chelsea four years ago as a midfielder. He has since transitioned to centre-back, captaining the West Ham U23s to the Premier League 2 trophy this season.
Rice signed a three-and-a-half year deal at West Ham in March. He was also named Ireland U17 Player of the Year that month.
Ireland play Mexico in New Jersey on June 1st and then Uruguay at the Aviva on June 4th before the World Cup qualifier against Austria in Dublin on June 11.
