You really do pity the generation of Irish football fans who fell in love with Aston Villa in the early 90's. Paul McGrath, Dean Saunders and Steve Staunton were all players worthy of your admiration but unfortunately for supporters of the team today, it looks like their unbroken stay in the Premier League will be over soon.
The FA Cup didn't offer much respite from the depressing grind of league action either, with Remi Garde's men drawing 1-1 away to League Two side Wycombe Wanderers earlier today in the Martin O'Neill/Paul Lambert derby.
Understandably some fans were angry with Villa's continued slide, and BT Sport's camera caught an interesting exchange between captain Micah Richards and Aston Villa's version of Andy Tate.
As Jim Gavin would say, they had a full and frank discussion.

It is hard to see how this season can improve for Villa, which is a pity because they are a comforting presence in the Premier League year after year. Was it a wise decision to get rid of Sherwood when they did?
Garde hasn't brought about much of an improvement and at least Sherwood always had the emergency plan of throwing his gilet against the wall midway through an impassioned speech in the hope that it would propel Villa to safety.
You're really telling me that this couldn't have a galvanising effect on a struggling side?
