The Irish WNT are debuting at their first ever major tournament when they kick off vs Australia at 11am on Thursday, here’s where to find a women’s World Cup watch party near you to ensure you can soak up the hype in all of its glory.

Whack out the jerseys, face paint and cheering voice in preparation and send in any more public meet ups you might know of to help as many people as possible onto the bandwagon to support the Girls In Green Down Under.

Women’s World Cup Watch Party (Almost) A-Z

CORK

Avondale United are opening the scenes around the monumental occasion with their viewing party in tandem with the Cork City women’s team, all of whom will be hoping local girl Denise O’Sullivan will continue to light things up on the world stage.

The Ireland WNT mainstay will be rallied on in The Woolshed by her family and friends, as well as securing more undoubted good wishes by St. Vincent's GAA Club, in close proximity to her home.

Carrigaline United will bolster that support in Cork, with the club coming together at Ballea Park clubhouse to watch the game.

DUBLIN

Fingal County Council are running what’s dubbed to be the ultimate viewing experience at the Sport Ireland Indoor Arena in Blanchardstown, vying to be Ireland’s biggest watch party in a free but ticketed (and now sold out) event. The winner of their ‘best-dressed super fan’ competition will pick up prizes, with the star reward on offer being a signed Irish WNT jersey.

Bohemians and Dalymount Park are running their own free big screen communal watching experience, with a food truck, covered seats and FAI colouring books on hand to enhance the day. On top of that surrounding pubs also have the game on offer, including The Bernard Shaw and The Back Page.

Similarly, The Camden, The Wool Shed and Wigwam are running related events, with a location steeped in Irish WNT history, Liberty Hall, topping off the listings.

Football clubs around the country will be backing Katie McCabe and the team in their droves, emphasised perfectly by Abbie Larkin’s home setting in Ringsend where a big screen will be set up at Irishtown Stadium.

Portmarnock AFC also running a watch party too, with doors opening at 10am and ticket details available on their social media channels.

Finally sponsors Sky are holding celebrations in their stores, including in Dundrum and Blanchardstown.

GALWAY

Recommended

Kinnevys Bar, Co Galway will be backing the entire Ireland team with their set up when the game kicks off, but with special credence to local centre back Niamh Fahey. The Killannin native was recently honoured at a Galway United fixture and the Tribesmen and women came out in force and so there’s optimism such greetings will extend on this milestone.

KILDARE

Elsewhere Kilcock Celtic are putting the final touches to their viewing party, decking out the clubhouse in bunting, flags and posters.

They’re not the only show in town however as Liffey Bank FC have their own display planned, taking place at The Salmon Leap Inn, with doors opening at 10:30.

LOUTH

Dundalk’s Castletown Belles Football Club aren’t going to miss out on the action either, even with a hefty schedule.

The organisers have a viewing party in place from 10am at their local camp and promises to be a fantastic outing.

OFFALY

Birr town AFC in Tullamore are well up for the proceedings, serving up a watch party at the Birr Rugby Club clubhouse, with all underage players as well as the general public encouraged to attend.

SLIGO

The Green Army are also to be well supported in the west, cheering on their representative Lucy Quinn from the ATU Sligo canteen.

In association with Sligo Rovers women’s team and the entire community the historic event is surely one no one will want to miss.

WEXFORD

Wexford Youths and Wexford FC had a comparable train of thought, preparing Ferrycarrig Park for fans to watch the infamous Ireland vs Australia encounter.

With former player Claire O’Riordan looking to do them proud, themselves and Curracloe United are sure to cultivate an enjoyable atmosphere backing Vera Pauw’s side.
