Who could forget three years ago, when - just hours before Man Utd officially announced Alex Ferguson's retirement - Paddy Crerand went on Newstalk and rubbished all reports that Fergie was about to call it a day?
Of course, it turned out to be the former Man Utd player's denial which was rubbish.
On BBC 5 Live last night, we had something similar.
The BBC, along with several papers, reported yesterday evening that despite winning the FA Cup, and having a year remaining on his contract, Louis van Gaal would be replaced by Jose Mourinho as Man Utd manager.
Dan Roan was 5 Live last night to discuss the news. So was Crerand.
Crerand claimed that his personal viewing of Man Utd executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward hugging Louis van Gaal after the game meant reports of his demise as Old Trafford boss were fabricatd.
He went on to demand that Roan name his sources - something which the BBC sports editor obviously refused to do.
Ridiculous tirade by Paddy Crerand on 5Live. "Where do you get this crap?" Sycophantic defence of LVG when he knows damn well how it works.

Here's Crerand on 5 Live last night.
And, in case you don't remember it, here he is talking to Oisin Langan on Newstalk in May 2013.
