Aston Villa and Fulham are one win away from a return to the Premier League. Having overcome Middlesbrough and Derby County respectively, the match dubbed 'the most expensive in world football' is not always the most entertaining affair, but it certainly excited. Here are all the details you need for when is the Championship playoff final, and what to expect of Aston Villa vs Fulham
When is the Championship playoff final?
Making for a smashing day of football, the Championship playoff takes place on Saturday, 26 May - the same day as the Champions League Final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
What time does the Championship playoff start?
Leaving you with plenty of time to catch both the Aston Villa vs Fulham, and Liverpool vs Real Madrid, the Championship playoff begins at 5:00pm.
Where can you watch it?
As with all the Championship action, you will be able to watch the Championship playoff on Sky Sports.
Where is the Championship playoff being played?
As always, the Championship playoff will take place in Wembley Stadium. Interestingly, the stadium could soon be the property of Fulham's owner Shahid Khan.
How have the two teams shaped up so far?
Well, Aston Villa had a share of good luck in their semi-final second-leg defeat of Middlesbrough; Mike Dean earning his place in Boro's hall of shame. Finishing 4th in the Championship table, Steve Bruce's side ended up 16 points shy of champions, Wolves.
Having been relegated four years ago now, Fulham found themselves two points off automatic promotion after 46 games. In the playoffs so far, they overcame Gary Rowett's Derby County and will fancy their chances in the Championship playoff final.
In terms of form, Villa had a shaky enough run in to the end of the season; winning only 4 of their 7 league games from April onward. However, a good season overall meant that Bruce's men had enough in the bank to see out any late surge from beneath.
Fulham on the other-hand suffered their first league defeat since December when they lost to Birmingham City on the last day of the regular Championship season. With the prodigious young talent Ryan Sessegnon being linked with a move away from Craven Cottage, promotion may be Fulham's only hope of retaining the 17-year-old's services.
So, once again, when is the Championship playoff? Saturday, 26 May @ 5.00pm.
