For those of you who don't read The Sunday World, Denis Irwin has a weekly column in which he gives his measured opinion on all that is happening in the game. The summer though seems to bring about a transformation in Denis in which he becomes in football forum parlance; a transfer muppet. He told us all about RVP to United last season and was touting United's interest in Robert Lewandowski last year too. In today's column he says United will "move heaven and earth" to get Cesc Fabregas and that a deal "should be done easily enough". He also speculates about the future of Nani, Patrice Evra and Leighton Baines among others.
Irwin remains a pundit on MUTV and an ambassador for United so his views should have some credence but frankly we think he's close to setting up a twitter account with the handle @DenisITK and telling us about his sources and using words like BREAKING too much. Stick to being the quiet ledge we love Denis.
