Leicester City won what was always going to be a tricky game against a side with a new manager in Newcastle United, and they did so thanks to a marvellous overhead kick by Japanese striker Shinji Okazaki.
With the three points secured, Leicester are now 5 points clear with eight games left to play, and really, really, really look like they have what it takes to get over the line and secure the most unlikely of Premier League title wins, and understandably Claudio Ranieri is over the moon...
So why do Sky Sports insist on making him declare Leicester the champions prematurely every single week?
Ever since the Foxes toppled Man City back in January, every post match interview has been the exact same, along the lines of:
Reporter: You've got to think you'll win it now.. Surely?
Claudio: No, no, we're just taking it one game at a time.
And then the same next week, and next week, and next week, and now here I am wondering if Geoff Shreeves is going to water-board Claudio Ranieri until he finally admits that Leicester are going to win the league.
Take a look at tonight's example:
That's twice!!
He didn't say it the first time, so let's ask him again.
And there is absolutely no way that he would say it, because literally nothing good could come from it. What honestly do they expect?
Leave him alone.
Ask him relevant questions about his team or his next opponent, or who he's wearing, but for the love of God spare us another elbow-jabbing 'You're gonna do it, eh? Eh? EH?!' leading question that he has made perfectly clear he won't answer but will never get angry over because he's such a nice man.
Actually, they did ask him about Riyad Mahrez once, and that didn't go too well either...
