Proven goalscorer Johnny Kenny has revealed his shift in mentality is crucial to his current impressive form for Shamrock Rovers.
The former Sligo Rovers man scored twice to inspire Rovers dramatic win over Vikingur Reykjavik in the first round of Champions League qualifying in Tallaght on Tuesday night.

Speaking after the match, Kenny was realistic when it came to discussing to the amount of chances he will convert. His cameo in Reykjavik last week did lead to a missed chance but the 21-year-old did not dwell on the opportunity.
Every striker misses chances, it's just how you deal with them.

A direct result of his improved injury record is a sustained run in the Rovers team and that no doubt is playing a big part in the form Kenny is showing at the moment.
With 10 league goals and only two behind top scorer Pat Hoban, Kenny had full confidence going into the second leg with the Icelandic champions having come off the bench in the first leg:
I knew after last week I'd get opportunities in behind them and thankfully today I took the first chance we got.
Rovers will face Sparta Prague in Tallaght next Tuesday, but have the safety net of a Europa League third round clash if they lose to the Czech side over two legs.
The Rovers frontman is under no illusions of the task that faces Rovers against the Czech champions over the next two weeks:
Can't wait to go and test ourselves and see where we are compared to that. They are a serious side and probably a level above us. What have we to lose?
Rovers chances of progressing will be significantly boosted if Kenny can replicate the form he has been in over the past few months.
