West Brom kit man and former League of Ireland goalkeeper Jack Smyth paid tribute to legendary kit man Michael 'Locker' Davis, who passed away during the early hours of Friday morning.
'Locker' was a trusty lieutenant to League of Ireland stalwart Pat Devlin, following him to the likes of Bray Wanderers, Drogheda United and Athlone Town. 'Locker' was most recently the club kit man for Cabinteely.
Cabinteely had organised a testimonial game for 'Locker', scheduled for 25 August. Despite his untimely passing, the testimonial will go ahead, with a host of current and former League of Ireland players expected to line-out at Stradbrook.
Of the news, Pat Devlin said that everyone will "plough on" regardless.
It will be a chance to celebrate his life then go and have pint with some of the many people who came to know him through the game over the years and remember a friend.
Jack Smyth was speaking ahead of West Brom's televised 1-1 draw against Derby County at Pride Park. You can watch his tribute to 'Locker' below:
