Welsh Premier League Game Postponed As Officials Didn't Turn Up

Yesterday's Welsh Premier League game between Carmathen and Airbus was postponed when everyone turned up for the games, except the match officials.  The Welsh Premier League was quick to defend the officials concerned.

Last night the Welsh Premier League was trying to lay the blame at the door of home club Carmathen. According to report on BBC;

League secretary Gwyn Derfel said it was "the home club's responsibility to re-appoint the officials"

Carmathen responded;

"It is always the case that the FAW informs the officials and the club in writing.

"This did not happen for this match."

Plenty of fans of League of Ireland club bemoan the organisation of the League, but they'll always provide referees. A club familiar to many League of Ireland fans, The New Saints, clinched the Welsh League title on Saturday.
