'Welcome Home' - Robbie Keane Was Just Taking The Piss On His Return From Euro 2016

We may well never see him in an Ireland jersey again and, whatever about the sentimental impact of that impending decision, there's still the fact that Robbie Keane can still produce moments of magic like this.

In all truth, perhaps it is the perfect time for Ireland's greatest ever striker to take his leave from the international scene. If it means we can still watch Keane produce the kind of magic that he showed against Vancouver in the MLS last night then so be it.

On his return from Euro 2016, Keane started alongside Steven Gerrard, Nigel De Jong and Giovani Dos Santos as Galaxy looked to give their play-off hopes a bit of a kick start after a disappointing run of results. 12 minutes in, Keane decided to do this.

What an absolute beauty. And we'll leave that 'welcome home' commentary well enough alone. It may be home for Keane and his family now but we all know it'll never really be home. You can take the boy out of Tallaght and all that.

Just in case they needed any reminding, Keane set them straight when he was asked if he was 'delighted to be back in L.A.' Nonetheless, it's great to see him light up the MLS again on his return. Long may it last.
