Wednesday's 'When Will The Sagas End?' Transfer Gossip

Today's Transfer Gossip column is putting in a formal transfer request. We are no longer satisfied with this transfer window and would like to be transferred to deadline day when the sagas will either be concluded or in the process of being so.

So today, lets gloss over Suarez's Guardian interview, Spurs' £105 million valuation of Bale and Rooney's plan to move to Europe if the Chelsea bid collapses. Makes us pine for the days of the Ashley Cole 'tapping up' affair.

Having failed in their efforts to sign Thiago Alcantra and Cesc Fabregas, Manchester United have turned their attention to Everton's Marouane Fellaini, who was naturally the club's number one target all along. According to the Daily Mail, Fellaini's £23 million buy out clause has expired so United are trying to negotiate the lowest price possible. However, the club will surely be confident that, whatever the fee, they can recoup it in sales of afro wigs (especially if they sell yellow and green ones) despite Fellaini's £100,000-a-week contract demands. Selling Wayne Rooney might also help.

Speaking of hair (Fellaini, not Rooney), Barcelona can't stand the prospect of losing a floppy haired mad man at the back in the coming years, and are prepared to pay £35 million for Chelsea's David Luiz, as a replacement for Carles Puyol. The Mirror say Barcelona are confident of getting their man, despite Chelsea's £45 million price tag, and made an official bid this afternoon. Barca are also interested in buying Suarez - giving us hope that the saga might be ended by a non-English team coming in for him. Unfortunately it's only Manchester City's Denis Suarez.

Elsewhere, Sunderland have accepted a bid from Wigan for James McClean, potentially meaning one fewer Irish player in the Premier League but one more in Europe. But actual transfers aren't very interesting so now let's all get back to staring mindlessly at our computers, waiting desperately for something to happen in the Suarez, Bale and Rooney sagas.
