You may not have known it, but a new world champion was crowned when you were sleeping last night.
By beating Uruguay 3-1, Mexico became the world champions of senior men's international football. No, this is not a drill. According to FIFA, Mexico are 16th in the world, with Uruguay in ninth.
Using the boxing style method of every world champion defending their title, Mexico claimed the crown after defeating title holders Uruguay on their fourth defense.
Of course, there was no fanfare, no trophy. In fact, the Mexican players probably don't even know they've won it. It's all very unofficial, but thanks to the Unofficial Football World Championships, who have charted the unofficial title back to the first international game back in 1872.
Of course, this new method completely changes the course of history. The most successful team ever? Scotland, having won the crown 86 times including defenses. Most surprisingly, the last time Scotland held the crown was in March 2007, when they lost to Italy.
Ireland have been in nine title games, winning just three. Again, this may surprise you, but the last time Ireland had the crown was in 2004. Liam Miller, Alan Lee, Clive Clarke, Martin Rowlands, and co lost the title in a friendly game with Nigeria having won it with a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic three games previous.
The title has been in South America for the last year, and with the Copa America ongoing, it's going to stay that way for the foreseeable future.
