Republic of Ireland international Michael Obafemi completed a loan move to Plymouth Argyle yesterday, with the striker hoping to get his career back on track after a difficult period at club level.
The 24-year old is a very talented player, although his time at Burnley has not proven to be a success. He would move to Turf Moor in the winter of 2023, going on to play just over 160 minutes over the rest of the campaign as the club secured promotion to the Premier League.
Obafemi would then suffer an injury that summer, and having made just a couple of short appearances off the bench in the first half of the campaign, he would join Millwall on loan in January. That move proved to be a mixed bag, scoring two goals in 14 league appearances.
The forward will hope to rediscover his form at Plymouth Argyle, with his new manager delighted to bring him to the club.

Wayne Rooney Was Keen To Bring Ireland Striker To Plymouth
Wayne Rooney was appointed as Plymouth Argyle boss during the summer, going on to take one point from their opening two games of the season. It is expected that they will be in the relegation battle over the coming months, meaning a player with Championship pedigree of Michael Obafemi could be an important addition.
Speaking to the club website, Rooney explained why he was so keen to bring the Ireland striker to the club.
We are thrilled that we have managed to secure the services of Michael. He was really keen to come and be a part of what we are building here at Argyle.
He fits the profile of player I want as part of the squad and complements the style of play we are looking to implement.
Michael Obafemi is sure to get plenty of playing time at Plymouth this season, assuming he stays fit. That has been an issue over the course of his career, although he is an effective player when fit and firing.
From an Ireland point of view, he is a valuable addition to the squad when he is at his best.
