Wayne Rooney scored his tenth goal of the MLS season on Wednesday night. It came in a 1-0 win at home to Toronto.

In the 18th minute, Rooney fired a sensational fire kick past Alex Bono from 35 yards.

The goal gave DC United their four consecutive victory. It also leaves them unbeaten in their last eight games and on the verge of progressing to the playoffs. With two games of the season remaining, DC are four points ahead of Montreal in the final playoffs spot.

Since arriving during the summer, Rooney has made 18 appearances for the club and has six assists in addition to his ten goals.
