Wayne Rooney looks set to cut his Everton homecoming short; the former Manchester United man has agreed a deal in principle with the Major League Soccer side, DC United.

Reportedly paying out £12 million for England's record goalscorer, the MLS transfer-window opens on July 1o.
The Daily Mail reported that Rooney's agent Paul Stretford was in the US capital to discuss a contract for his client that will run until the end of the 2020 MLS season.
Should Rooney confirm the move, his arrival will coincide with the club's move into the brand new Audi Field Stadium.
