Waterford FC have confirmed manager Alan Reynolds was the victim of a vicious assault and is in hospital.
The club released a statement on the matter earlier today.
Waterford FC can confirm that manager Alan Reynolds is recovering in hospital following an unprovoked assault last night.
The club will be making no further comment on the matter.
Reynolds is reported to be in hospital with facial injuries as well as a suspected broken leg.

Reynolds was jumped on from behind, beaten and kicked at 1am in Waterford by potentially two men. Gardai are currently checking CCTV footage and looking for witnesses. The exact circumstances are unknown but the former Waterford player, now coach was out socialising with friends earlier in the evening as he watched the Champions League final.
