The curtain-raiser to this year's FAI Cup final between Dundalk and Cork City threw up a wonderful opening goal.
Featuring UCD Waves and Cork City, the first half of this years women's cup final was an extremely cagey affair.
Despite a few speculative efforts from distance, neither Brooke Dunne nor Amanda Budden had much to contend with in the UCD and Cork City goals respectively.
One moment of magic however did eventually separate the sides in the Aviva stadium.
As a wonderful pass from midfield unleashed Cork's Clare Shine, she took the ball into the box, slaloming past the onrushing Dunne, before deftly slotting it into the goal from a tight angle.

It would prove a decisive moment, and, as all Cork City people will be hoping, an omen of what is to come in this afternoon's men's final.
While UCD continued to try and break down a stubborn Cork defence, it was Shine's moment of magic that would ultimately send the first of today's two cups to Cork.
