Once a blue, always a blue.
Wayne Rooney's return to Everton got off to the perfect start on Friday as he scored a vintage goal that bore a striking resemblence to the famous curling effort he scored against Arsenal as a 16-year-old which launched him to fame.
The former Man Utd man wasted no time in getting involved as he made the trip to Africa for Everton's pre-season tour, and he hit the ground running in Nairobi with a lovely strike against Gor Mahia.
Just after the half-hour mark Rooney picked up the ball, found himself in space, and let one go:
A lovely goal, but it has to be a bit weird for Man Utd fans to see after 13 years at Old Trafford.
Everton fans will be hoping that Ronald Koeman can get him back playing with consistency, although the club are still actively pursuing other signings in attacking positions.
It will be interesting to see where Rooney fits in as we get closer to the start of the season, but he's made a good start.
