Justin Croke - take a day for yourself.
Waterford United under-17s captain Justin Croke has pulled two phenomenal strikes of entirely differing styles out of his locker in the past two weeks, and we felt it would genuinely be rude not to show them to you.
The first was a sumptuous effort as Croke saw the 'keeper off his line in a 5-1 victory over Limerick two Saturdays ago, perhaps borrowing some inspiration from a certain fellow county man's lob over Almunia for Manchester United at Highbury in 2005. But, you know, a better goal.
The second - well, the second was an utter boom-missile of a volley against Bray Wanderers from this Sunday, and the reaction of the men behind the camera says it all. 'Oh', indeed.
Perhaps the best part about the video is the almost expectant cry of 'Justin!' during the second goal, as the ball flies off Croke's boot into the top corner from all of 30 yards. How good is this young man that you simply presume the ball is about to cannon into the net as it drops to him from a corner?
It looks like Waterford United might have a serious player on their hands.
Many thanks to FAI and Waterford City and County Council Football Development Officer Gary Power for sending this our way.
