Shamrock Rovers claimed a 2-1 win over bitter rivals Bohemians in the televised game on RTÉ on Friday night, and they did so thanks to a cracking performance from defender Trevor Clarke.
Rovers were 2-0 up after 70 minutes thanks to goals from Brandon Miele and Michael O'Connor, and they managed to hang on to the lead despite a late goal from Georgie Poynton and a frenetic finish.
Clarke was named man of the match for his display, and in his interview with Tony O'Donoghue he couldn't contain his relief as he let slip a swear word at the very start.
Fuckin' hell indeed! Actually, did he also say 'fuckin' bodies on the line' right after? Can't blame him after that performance.
Everybody loves a swear on the national broadcaster, great to have one out of the way so early in the season.
Rovers fans will be having a good night tonight as their club picked up their first win of the season, leaving Bohs on 0 points from their opening two games.
Stephen Bradley's men host Derry City next week, while Bohs entertain the now free-scoring Bray Wanderers.
