"My name is Alex Hunter. You don't know me. But believe me, you soon will."
Another new trailer has been released by EA Sports for FIFA 17, and it has confirmed that the game will feature what FIFA fans have been crying out for over the course of the past few years: its first ever Story Mode.
It has long been whispered that this would be the year EA would finally drop a new cinematic game mode, and at last, the prayers of avid FIFA players have been answered.
It's believed The Journey will follow fictional English footballer Alex Hunter as he attempts to live his dream in the Premier League, with users choosing which Premier League club he signs for and guiding him through encounters with dodgy-looking agents, squabbles with teammates and moving into expensive apartments amongst other things.
Fear not - you'll also be playing a bit of football with him in his spare time.
You can check out EA's full trailer below, and trust us - it's a doozy.
A couple of quick takeaways: What is Adnan Januzaj's problem with Alex? And is that an Eden Hazard poster in his bedroom?
But jokes aside, a FIFA story mode has been needed for a long time, and props must go to EA Sports for trying to make this year's game actually different to its predecessor. Similar game modes in EA Sports' Fight Night: Champion (2011) and EA competitor NBA 2K16 - the story for which was penned by Spike Lee - have garnered considerable acclaim.
We truly cannot wait for this. For more, head over to EA's interactive preview of The Journey.
