Look, it's a bank holiday Monday so let's cut to the bloody chase here. This is a fucking appalling miss by Spain's
Nahikari Garcia.
With her Spain under-19s team trailing their French counterparts 2-1 in the Women's European Under-19s Championships Final, and with less than two minutes of stoppage time remaining, the 19-year-old Real Sociedad striker pounced on a goalkeeping error and looked genuinely guaranteed to level proceedings from all of four yards.
What transpired in the admittedly boggy conditions at France's National Training Centre made for truly ghastly viewing for Spanish fans, along with Garcia's teammates, friends and family, as she inconceivably sliced the ball high, wide and so far from handsome before collapsing in tears.

It might sound like we're being a little harsh on Garcia here, and that's because we are. Were she 6 years old and playing in her back harden, that would still be considered a ghastly miscue.
That's not to say you wouldn't feel sorry for her, however. Being 19 is difficult enough without costing your country extra time in a European final, and Garcia does appear to lose her footing slightly as she swings for the ball (the game was actually called to a halt for a period towards the end of the first half as groundsmen battled the conditions).
Oh yeah, we forgot to mention that prior to her last second villainy, she also missed a penalty after being brought down in the box. When it rains it pours.
