When UEFA's Gianni Infantino announced he was running for the FIFA presidency, the general response was: how could he get elected?
Infantino is known to us all as the man who manages to drag out UEFA's competition draws for eons. For a man to run for the most powerful position in the sport based on a public record of competently picking balls out of a bowl seemed bizarre.
Oh ye of little faith. On Sky Sports tonight, the draw was made for the Scottish Cup 6th Round, and subsequently went horribly wrong.
The draw was postponed after one of the balls opened up prematurely during the draw.
In Switzerland, one can imagine a smug Infantino retreating with a smirk that says 'I told you it wasn't as easy as I make it look'.
