We needed Italy to win, and bless their hearts they went and did it.

A draw between Sweden and Italy would have been bad news for Ireland, as it would have left that Italians in need of a result against us in their final game to secure progression in the tournament, but with a win today they are through and can afford to rest a few players against us in Lille on Wednesday.

And it could have been so different, in a boring game with very few clear cut chances, Eder popped up with a moment of individual class to score the winner in the 87th minute.

A sound lad, that Eder.

Just what we wanted, however now it is over to the boys in green to get a result against the Belgians. COYBIG!
