They've done it, Dundalk are through to the next round of Champions League qualifiers.
After a slightly disappointing 1-1 draw at home to FH Hafnarfjordur last week, the League of Ireland side earned a 2-2 draw in Iceland on Wednesday evening which was enough to send them through and earn them a tidy sum of €630,000 for doing so.
David McMillan was the hero on the night scoring both goals, the first drew Dundalk level after a nightmare start saw them behind after 18 minutes, and his second goal put them ahead which eventually saw them through despite a late scare.
62: GOAL!
FH 1-2 @DundalkFC! That man McMillan again! It's 2-3 on agg to the League of Ireland side! #FHvDUN https://t.co/p4oAxQEqyO— eir Sport (@eirSport) July 20, 2016
A really well worked goal.
Now it's over to Cork City and St.Pats to try and make this a truly excellent week for the League of Ireland in Europe.
