Last night Sligo Rovers overcame Limerick 2-1 to climb out of the bottom two in the SSE Airtricity League.
A clever moment of quick-thinking saw Rhys McCabe land an outstanding goal from within his own half. The referee had awarded his side a free-kick and with the keeper off the line McCabe hit it quickly and landed a superb goal.

However, question marks hang over whether the ball was rolling just before he hit it. For a free-kick to be taken the ball must be at a complete stop.

Of course, that is not the player's fault and there is no doubt it was a top quality strike. As for the opposition, a positive for Limerick was the return of Conor Clifford, who made his first appearance since his six months worldwide ban for a gambling offence.
