As Manchester United predictably fell to Tottenham at White Hart Lane, the strange trend of one of their old boys scoring a beautiful goal on a day in which they lose continued.
Many United fans believe they never saw the best of Shinji Kagawa at Old Trafford; his incisive style of play through the centre perhaps not conducive to Alex Ferguson's width-based approach play, and under David Moyes, well, the Japanese international fell by the wayside, as did so many of his teammates.
Borussia Dortmund, for whom he was named in the Bundesliga's best XI in 2012, were quick to re-accrue his services in 2014 - and Kagawa is slowly returning to the form which saw him depart for Mancehster in the first place.
On another day when United struggled to make inroads into the opposition's defence, Kagawa carved Dortmund's old rivals Schalke open at ease, giving the visitors a lead with the most delicate of chips from the edge of the area.
The Ruhr derby finished 2-2 in the end, but Kagawa joins the likes of Javier Hernandez and Angel Di María as a talented player who is beginning to rediscover himself since departing a stagnant United setup. It's not all about United, of course - we just wanted to show you the goal because it's a bloody beautiful finish.
