Real Madrid were beaten for the second time in three days, after previously going 40 games unbeaten, by Celtic Vigo on Wednesday night in the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey.
Former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas continued his impressive form by bagging a goal in the 2-1 win, but another incident involving him has dominated the headlines in the Spanish media.
Shocking footage emerged of Real Madrid captain on the night Sergio Ramos spitting at Aspas, and there were shades of Rijkaard on Voller about the volume of the spit. Shameful scenes.
Yo no veo provocación, yo veo una acción ejemplar de Ramos que le da saliva a Iago Aspas para que se peine el flequillo. pic.twitter.com/UfaLQnjI81

As shameful as those scenes were, it seems as though Iago Aspas didn't even notice at the time, when the Spanish media presented him with the fact that Ramos had indeed spat at him, he gave a very diplomatic response:
I didn’t even realize. I only saw it when someone sent me the video, but to be honest I didn’t even notice at the time.
They’re things that happen a thousand times on the pitch, but they stay on the pitch.
Being spat at is one thing that can make even the most passive of men become enraged, and Ramos was even making eye contact with his him, but Iago Aspas isn't interested in what the Spanish media have been running as one of their lead stories.
It will be interesting should Aspas be picked alongside Ramos in the next Spanish squad to be named, but really this does not reflect well on the Madrid man, who is lucky his saliva did not make contact with his opponent.
