In Monday night's African Cup of Nations clash between Senegal and Algeria, we may have witnessed the most embarrassing attempt at play-acting in order to waste time ever captured by a TV camera.
Senegal twice hit back after Islam Slimani goals to level the score at 2-2 late in the second half, and as a point was enough to see them top the group while eliminating Algeria, time-wasting tactics came into play.
Not all time-wasting tactics are bad, as Jon Walters holding the ball in the corner against the Germans back in 2015 represents the artform at it's peak, but things like diving and play-acting are never good to see...
This, however, takes the cake. After spending roughly a minute down receiving treatment and looking very much in distress, the replay showed what a total joke the situation was.
As funny as it is, it's also a pathetic attempt at wasting time that even Dudu Aouate wouldn't have the gall to attempt.
Senegal held on to their lead and have topped their group, but the only talking point will now be the fact that their goalkeeper is an absolute chancer.
Shameful stuff.
