While many League of Ireland fans are understandably bitter that Seanie Maguire was called in to the Ireland squad for the Georgia and Serbia games next month the moment he signed a contract to join Preston, at least he's hit the ground running in England and we can look forward to his inclusion in squads going forward.
Over in The Championship, Seanie has been impressing pretty much any time he takes the pitch at Deepdale, and today was no exception as he was given a fantastic ovation when he was withdrawn from the action having provided an assist for his strike partner Jordan Hugill. He was even on he cover of the programme today too.
The assist was a lovely cushioned header after he latched on to a whipped cross:
Sean Maguire and Jordan Hugill combined very nicely for @pnefc's excellent winning goal!

And Cork City fans may shed a single happy tear upon hearing Maguire's name ring around the stands as he was taken off to loud applause.

It's fantastic to see, as is the reaction from Preston fans who couldn't make it to the game and instead shared their views on social media. Many of them praised the work-ethic of Maguire who has wasted absolutely no time in endearing himself to the locals.
88' Final substitution for PNE as Sean Maguire leaves the field to rapturous applause as Mavididi makes his Deepdale debut. #pnefc 1-0

Ireland are in dire need for some options in forward positions, and will be especially in a few years when the likes of Shane Long and Jon Walters call it a day on the international scene, so Maguire is someone that every Irish fan will want to see go from stength to stength.
Thankfully, he's off to a great start. Keep it up, Seanie!
