Having gone nine months without a goal for his club, Aston Villa's Scott Hogan has scored his second consecutive league goal tonight.
Hogan, 25, was a big money signing in 2017, when he moved from Brentford to Villa in a £15 million pound deal, but things haven't worked out the way he would have hoped, scoring just one goal in 2017 for Villa against Wigan, last March.
However in his first game of 2018, Hogan dusted off the 2017 hoodoo, scoring in Villa's thrashing of Bristol City in the Championship a fortnight ago.
Villa are playing their first league game since being dumped out of the FA Cup by League One side Peterborough last week against Nottingham Forrest, and the Salford born striker scored the opener in tonight's clash.
Scotland's Robert Snodgrass curled a teasing ball into the box from the right hand side, only for it to find the oncoming Hogan to head the ball into the net from all but six yards.

Here is to hoping that Hogan's second league goal in consectuctive games is a good omen for the striker in a green shirt in 2018 and beyond.
A victory for Aston Villa tonight would see them rise to fourth position in the Championship table on 47 points, five points off Derby in second place, who occupy the automatic promotion spot. Wolves are the runaway leader's of the Championship on 62 points, 10 points clear of Derby.
