Watch: Ryan Giggs Tried His Best To Wind Up Roy Keane Over Ireland's World Cup Hopes

No one is still entirely sure what purpose Lee Dixon serves on occasions like this but, leaving that aside, ITV tend to do a rather splendid job when it comes to serving up the likes of the Euro 2016 semi-final. As an aside, their studio is magnificent but it was the choice of pundits last night that would have got most Irish fans switching over from RTÉ.

Dixon, Bellamy, Giggs and a returning Roy Keane provided the analysis and they certainly didn't disappoint.

Keane was Keane, Giggs continued his solid start to his punditry career and we were even treated to a slightly half-hearted attempt from Giggs to wind up Keane ahead of Ireland's World Cup qualification campaign. He's been in a dressing room with Roy Keane enough to know that if you're going to attempt that, at least put a bit of heart into it.

Keane, for his part, decided that the dismissive leg pat was the order of the day. Splendid.

As we've already seen however, Keane was rather more cutting in his analysis of Wales performance last night. It must be said that this is a Euro 2016 semi-final that we're talking about so, in the grand scheme of things you can hardly be too critical, but Keane certainly has a point when saying that Wales will come away from Lyon with some regrets.
