Norwich City claimed a valuable 1-0 win at home to Southampton on Saturday afternoon, but after the game all the talk has been over the future of Southampton winger Sadio Mane, after the Senegal international was absent from the starting lineup for the visiting side.

The reason for his exclusion was down to Mane arriving late to the final squad meeting before the match, which enraged Ronald Koeman, and the Dutch manager expressed his disappointment with Mane after the game.

Speaking to the BBC, Koeman said:

In my opinion, that's a shame for the football player. If you come late to a meeting, you know the rules, that kills us because there's no focus, no concentration, and no respect for the club.

It's now the second time, it happened last year. I cannot understand these kind of mistakes.

And also when speaking with Southampton's official YouTube channel, Koeman again criticised Mane, as well as Victor Wanyama who was sent off for a reckless challenge while on a yellow card.

Mane had been subject to an enquiry from Manchester United in the closing stages of the summer transfer window at the start of the season, and many publications had reported that said interest would be reignited in January, so expect to see a lot of links and reports in the coming days and weeks on the back of this.
