When Everton smashed their transfer record to accrue the services of Romelu Lukaku in July of 2014, it seemed like a decent piece of business for Chelsea.
But unlike so many 'wonderkids' who fall off the map, the beastly Belgian has started to fulfil much of his coveted potential, recently becoming the fourth-youngest Premier League player to reach 50 league goals.
Today, against his former club in the FA Cup quarter-finals, he let loose on the side which deemed him surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge.
Minutes later, the 22-year-old finished the tie with a strong finish on his weaker foot.
An incident-filled game saw Diego Costa sent off (but presumably not for the weird bite-slash-kiss he planted on Gareth Barry as they went head-to-head). Minutes later, Barry followed Costa down the tunnel.
Everton progressed to the Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 victory, and the sensational Lukaku - who has now netted 119 senior goals before his 23rd birthday - received a standing ovation as he left the field of play.
