What separates the great from the good? In football, it's the ability to produce something out of nowhere and win a match for your team.
That is exactly what Robert Lewandowski did on Friday night as he scored a 91st-minute winner for the Bundesliga leaders away to Freiburg.
Bayern were behind after just 3 minutes thanks to a Janik Haberer, and it was Lewandowski who levelled the scores before half time. After a tough battle in the second half, it was the big Polish striker who again produced the good for Carlo Ancelotti at the very death, and it was absolutely magnificent.
A hopeful ball was lumped in his direction, and in one fluid movement Lewandowski trapped the ball on his chest, flicked it away from the defender, and poked it just inside the far post to win the match.
Incredible.
The poise he showed to get the ball into just the right position to send it for the far corner. Absolutely brilliant forward play.
His touch around the box is what makes him a truly devastating striker, and Bayern now sit six points clear at the top of the table, albeit with Leipzig having a game in hand.
