Rio Ferdinand is still a man who is greatly respected around the Manchester United, as can be seen by the latest of his vlog series that he has been uploading to YouTube over the last six months or so.
It was clear from the reactions of the staff at the Aon Training Complex that Rio was fantastic character to have around the club, but the most interesting aspect of this most recent video was a team-talk he delivered to the Man Utd U15s.
This was recorded days after City's U15s thrashed United's U15s 9-0 back in November, and as he was around for the day filming sponsor commercials, Rio was asked to have a word with the young players.
He pulled no punches in letting them know what was expected of them at such a prestigious club, and without being too tough on them, he explained that they should feel embarrassed and use that to draw a reaction so that it doesn't happen again.

While it would certainly have been nervy for the lads to have a player of Ferdinand's stature telling them to get their act together after a hammering at the hands of their rivals, it will likely stay with them.
The response from the club's fans as the clip reached social media has been resoundingly positive. Rio is someone who truly understands the club, so it's good to see people with his influence interacting with the kids in the academy, even if the moments are not regular, and not always positive.
Elsewhere in the video, Rio rips the piss out of Ashley Young upon finding out that he is the dressing room DJ, stating that when he was in charge of the music, the club won trophies. Ouch. You can watch Ferdinand's vlog in full below:
