Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand was joined by Paul Scholes and Steve McManaman in the BT Sport studio on Wednesday night as Anfield played host to an immediate Capital One Cup Final after Man City left Wembley with the trophy following a penalty shootout win on Sunday.
Despite the presence of two former Manchester United players, it was McManaman who got the first shot in at the current Liverpool squad when he insisted that 11th in the table simply wasn't good enough, before asking Ferdinand who he thought could be at risk of being replaced by next season in tonight's Liverpool team, to which Rio responded:
All of them.
An elaboration proved that Ferdinand feels that Clyne has been consistent and Henderson is the captain, so they will stay, but he feels the rest are entirely replaceable.
Tonight’s #LFC team: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Flanagan, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Firmino, Origi.

You would have to imagine that Milner, Firmino, and of course Red Cafu will all be involved next season, but it's clear that a major overhaul is needed for Jurgen Klopp to achieve acceptable results.
But still, Liverpool fans aren't likely to be impressed with Rio Ferdinand saying it. Could be worse, could be a Man City fan tuning in for some unbiased punditry and having to make do with a scouser and two former reds.
