TV3 made a big name signing in Richard Dunne, who made his debut on Tuesday night's Champions League coverage as Manchester City took on PSG.

Just like football, a punditry debut requires the newbie to keep it simple, and not to rush into anything, as a bad error could quickly turn the fans (or viewers in this case) against you.

Pre-match, Dunne did just that as he discussed the transformation of Manchester City and the capitulation of Aston Villa, while also revealing where he has been since his retirement.

The South of France? That doesn't sound like Richard Dunne, but perhaps that's exactly why he's enjoying it there.

Good to see that he's backing Ireland to get out of the group at Euro 2012, although if he were to play down our chances then that probably would have been the type of error we mentioned earlier.

Great to see Richard back involved in football, we look forward to him loosening up and unleashing some fury on the footballing world.
