Yesterday Liverpool's Mo Salah bagged two balls to secure a 2-1 victory against Leicester City. Salah brought his total to 23 goals already this season, with 17 in the Premier League.
While Liverpool fans will be anxious at the sight of him being taken off after limping his performances as a whole have thrilled the Anfield faithful. Salah is an incredibly strong and agile runner and has been crucial in Liverpool's race for a top-four place.
Last night, Match of the Day pundit Ian Wright made an interesting comparison when discussing the Egyptian:

In Wright's defence, he did stress he wasn't suggesting Salah was as good as Messi but has a similar style to him. Nevertheless, it provoked a mixed reaction.

Ian Wright is right, Salah has that Messi vibe.
Of course, he's not as good but they both buzz around the pitch in similar fashion.— ReviewFootball (@ReviewFootball) December 30, 2017
Wright seemed aware of the potential backlash as he made the point but still strove to make a nuanced case for the comparison. Salah is now second-favourite for Premier League player of the year, behind Kevin De Bruyne.
