Many Manchester United fans were upset to see PSV's Mexican defender Hector Moreno avoid punishment for a challenge that caused Luke Shaw's leg-break earlier this season, but while the challenge was certainly forceful, the argument that he got the ball first was certainly there.
That argument was not there tonight when Moreno's Colombian teammate Santiago Arias avoided a red card for this absolutely ridiculous challenge on Wolfsburg winger Daniel Caligiuri, which honestly looks like an Olympic long-jump attempt:
That is an absolute joke.
A yellow card for a two-footed lunge where the player leaves the air, makes contact with his opponent, and crashes him into the advertising board for good measure?
PSV went on to earn a very valuable 2-0 win to put them second in the group behind Manchester United, but they were lucky not to be reduced to ten men.
