Porto were favourites to overcome Braga in the Taca de Portugal despite having not beaten the Arcebispos in two encounters in the league this season.

Braga, in search of just their second ever Cup win, led 2-1 in stoppage time as Porto knocked on the door for an equaliser. Their 2-0 lead lasted just three minutes before Yacine Brahimi fired low to half the deficit.

Then, in the 91st minute, there was bedlam at the Estadio Nacional, as Porto forward Andre Silva produced an acrobatic volley to send the game to extra time - much to the dismay of Braga players and the delight of the Porto faithful.

However, after a scoreless extra time period the game went to a penalty shootout.

It was the men in red who would end up celebrating, as they overcame the 16-time Taca champions 4-2 from the spot.
