Saint Kevin's under 13s captured the nation's attention this weekend by beating both Barcelona and Deportivo in an academy tournament this weekend. The results meant that Kevins' qualified for the tournament's final against Barca this afternoon.
Kevin's fell 3-1 behind early in the second half but battled back fantastically well to draw 3-3. The game then went to penalties, where it ended in disappointment for the hosts.
@FcKevins have just come from 3-1 down to force a pen shoot out. Unreal game. #theacademycup

Brilliantly, Kevin's Periscoped the full shoot-out, and you can watch it in full below:

A disappointing result but Kevin's can take great heart from their performances over the weekend. The club have proved to be a fertile breeding ground for Irish internationals, with Liam Brady, Jeff Hendrick, Robbie Brady and Jack Byrne all Kevin's alumni.
Sadly, this tournament may be coming to an end, if this FAI plan comes to fruition.
Barca will be pleased with the tournament victory, although their conveyor belt of talent is still running smoothly if this extraordinary free-kick by Under-11 player Toni Caravaca.
