Manchester United are out of the Champions League. A 2-1 loss tonight means Sevilla progress to the quarter-finals at Jose Mourinho's side expense.
The result provoked a strong reaction online as once again Mourinho's playing style came under scrutiny. Speaking on BT Sport, former Man United midfielder Paul Scholes was highly critical of a United side with "no desire."

Rio Ferdinand felt his former side should be embarrassed that Steven Nzonzi did not break a sweat while also expressing his bewilderment at the decline in Alexis Sanchez.
"He looks a shadow of his former self. He looks a stranger."

Tonight's result means Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton is a must-win for Mourinho's side. A second place finish and Cup trophy could still salvage their season, but it would be an unmitigated disaster to bow out of two tournaments in five days.
