South African football is very, very strange.
Most of the coverage we see on this side of the World is when a team goes a goal or two up and starts pulling out the most ridiculous showboating they can think of, but another clip has gained traction online after Orlando Pirates took an absolute battering last night.
SuperSport United were the team who handed out a 6-1 thrashing to the Pirates, which prompted Orlando Pirates manager Muhsin Ertuğral to resign in his post-match interview.
The Turkish manager claimed that his players were not worthy of wearing the shirt, that he had no words, and could only offer his resignation after such a poor performance.
Now THAT'S a post-match interview with a manager. No 'we look to rebuild and go again', no 'it will take time', just an admission that it wasn't acceptable and he's packing it in.
Incredibly blunt, but what a scoop for that reporter. Imagine Geoff Shreeves' reaction if that happened on Sky Sports? He'd likely pass-out from the high.
