He had been looking a little bit 'casual' all night according to Ronnie Whelan.
Sure enough, with Manchester United peppering a series of crosses seemingly set on testing Benfica's young goalkeeper Mile Svilar, his resistance finally broke - and it was pretty embarrassing.
In starting tonight, Svilar became the youngest ever goalkeeper to appear in the Champions League - he only turned 18 in August.
Although he had been pretty respectable, albeit largely untested, before Marcus Rashford's opportune opener, the young Belgian 'keeper will not look back too favourably on the first goal he conceded in the competition.
In this their third game of the group stage, a poor first half for Manchester United was compensated for by a strong start to the second. While they were attacking with a greater regularity before Rashford's opener, there is no way they would have imagined an opening goal arriving like this.
