Watch: MUTV Pundits Squirm As Caller Excellently Explains Why Wayne Rooney Must Be Dropped

Usually when a clip from a phone-in on MUTV goes viral, it's because someone has complimented Gary Pallister on the size of his bulge, but this time there was no need to cut the caller off.

A caller that goes by 'Keith from Wilmslow' rang in after Manchester United defeated Northampton in the EFL Cup last night and proceeded to calmly and rationally outline why persisting with Wayne Rooney makes absolutely no sense in his current run of form.

English pundits have been widely criticised in recent weeks for painting over Rooney's form, instead bringing up what he has already achieved ad nauseam, and you could see the pundits on the MUTV set looking at each other wondering if this was allowed on the club's official channel.

It was, but sadly the same lines were trotted out in defence of the club captain once Keith from Wilmslow had finished.

Fair play to you, Keith from Wilmslow.

You obviously can't expect MUTV pundits to call for Rooney to be dropped, but at least the voice of the fans was heard on the show.

If Northampton wasn't breaking point in Mourinho's option to bench Rooney, then you have to feel that there won't be a breaking point and that the captain's armband carries immunity with it at Old Trafford.
