Fresh off Champions League glory with Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is hoping to experience similar success at international level this summer. The prolific winger is currently taking part in the African Cup of Nations with Egypt, aiming win the tournament on home soil.
The campaign has started well for Egypt, who won both of their two opening fixtures. They defeated Zambia 1-0 in the opener, before Salah and Aston Villa's Ahmed Elmohamady provided the goals in the 2-0 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo.
They were hoping to finish the group stage in a similarly convincing fashion against Uganda tonight, and they got off to the ideal start. As is often the case for Egypt, Salah was at the centre of it.
The Liverpool man banged in this absolute peach of a free-kick to give his side the lead in the 36th minute.
We don't see Salah hit free-kicks at club level too often, with Trent Alexander-Arnold in charge of the majority of the dead ball situations. Regardless, it is something he clearly has in his sizeable bag of tricks.
Egypt are the most successful team in African Cup of Nations history, with seven tournament successes. Their last triumph came in 2010, which capped off a run of three championships on the trot.
They reached the final in the last iteration in 2017, only to lose to Cameroon. They will be expected to go one step further on home soil, and are the favourites ahead of Sadio Mane's Senegal at the moment.
They will likely need Salah to produce a few more moments like this if they are to go all the way.
